About Welcome Home
1. What is Welcome Home Markets?
Welcome Home Markets is an independent home, kitchen, tabletop, clothing, and lifestyle retailer with shops in Easton and Chestertown, Maryland.
We specialize in fine European table linens, distinctive dinnerware and serving pieces, cookware, culinary tools, American-made home goods, clothing, accessories, and thoughtful gifts.
We choose products for their quality, usefulness, and design. Our philosophy is simple: beautiful things should be used, whether it's the good china, a favorite tablecloth, or a well-made cooking pan.
2. Who owns Welcome Home Markets?
Welcome Home is owned by Jennifer Baker and John Laucik, a husband-and-wife team who share a love of cooking, entertaining, and good design.
Both previously worked in management consulting before building a business around the pleasure of living well at home.
Jenn leads much of the buying and creative direction, bringing her personal taste, product knowledge, and appreciation for traditional craftsmanship to the collections.
3. How did Welcome Home Markets begin?
Our story began in Chestertown in 2015 with Chester River Wine & Cheese Company.
Customers often asked where they could find beautiful serving pieces, quality kitchen tools, and thoughtful gifts to accompany the food and wine they enjoyed.
We opened Welcome Home in Chestertown in 2017, later expanded to Annapolis, and opened our Easton shop in 2024.
Today, our Easton and Chestertown stores continue that original idea: helping people cook, gather, give, and enjoy their homes.

Made in the Vosges region of France since 1833, Garnier-Thiebaut is known for its woven patterns, rich colors, and practical acrylic-coated jacquard tablecloths.
We also arrange custom-cut tablecloths and special orders, including umbrella-hole openings in select acrylic-coated fabrics.

Yes. We carry Busatti Italian tablecloths, placemats, and napkins, woven in Tuscany by a family-owned textile company established in 1842.
Our tablecloth selection includes smaller squares, 106-inch rectangles, and 106-inch rounds. We can also arrange special orders for additional colors, patterns, sizes, and custom cuts.
Busatti has a particularly personal history for Jenn. She discovered the brand in a small linen shop in Montepulciano during a trip to Italy twelve years before finally bringing it to Welcome Home.
It's a collection she's wanted to share with our customers for a very long time.

Yes. Welcome Home offers custom umbrella-hole openings in select acrylic-coated jacquard tablecloths from Garnier-Thiebaut and Le Jacquard Français.
