Our Labdanum Absolute fragrance features the deep and distinctively rich aroma of labdanum, the understory of the forest ‚ an earthy, woody, and multifaceted. Patchouli and a touch of vanilla add a sweet warmth to this complex blend, creating a truly exotic amber fragrance that is grounded in its natural origins.

Labdanum absolute (Cistus ladanifer) is a rich brown resin harvested from the rockrose shrub. Described as “the sweetest-scented of all substances” by early perfumers, its connection to perfumery dates to ancient Egypt when it was used in ceremonial incense. Widely used today to create the scent of amber, labdanum’s highly complex fragrance profile features notes of oak, sycamore, leather, moss, and fossilized amber.

Named for their rare aromatic oils—known as absolutes—our exquisite fragrances arrive in unique handblown glass vessels that reveal striking patterns when illuminated.

The LAFCO Labdanum Collection features essential oil-based fragrances and natural wood reeds. These products are proudly vegan, gluten-free, and cruelty-free, and do not contain any dyes, propellants, phthalates, or parabens.

Candle & Diffuser Vessel: Each of the hand blown glass vessels in our collection is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, designed with exquisite attention to detail. The process of making them by hand means that each vessel will have its own distinct coloring and pattern. Once your candle is finished burning, the vessel can be repurposed as a stylish addition to your home decor.
